Our 39th Year!
Welcome to the Castleford Gilbert & Sullivan Society. We are a bright and friendly group of people of all ages and backgrounds who meet regularly at 7.30 on Thursday evenings at The Henry Moore J & I School, Ashton Road, Castleford.
At present we have about 40 members and more of all ages are always welcome. Whether you want to sing, perform or get involved ‘behind the scenes’ at our shows and concerts, it’s a great way to meet new friends and be caught up in the infectious buzz of stage and song.

Enid Parkinson Members of the society were greatly saddened by Enid’s death soon after Christmas. Although she had not been well for some time her sudden death came as a shock to us all. Enid had been an active member of the society for almost 40 years, taking on many principal contralto roles in both shows and concerts, serving as chairman and committee member and, more recently helping to manage the front of house along with husband Jack. Always ready to give support and advice in all kinds of situations, Enid will be sadly missed. We will however always remember her friendship and the warmth of her smile. |
